Noemi RossNoemi Ross, Founder, and Chair of Project Rise Adult Learning Center.

Noemi Ross has more than 25 years of progressive experience contributing to the Lehman College Adult Learning Center literacy program, she has contributed to the success of the organization through start-up, survival, turnaround, and growth modes.

She has spent 25 plus years in a variety of positions while building relationships with the Lehman Community, the Literacy Assistance Center, and the program’s Financial Services.

Her understanding of both internal and external parts of the organization provides a concrete balance to the work she has delivered in the various positions she held beginning as a student, then office volunteer, office clerk, receptionist, office manager, data entry coordinator, program counselor & case manager, Adult Basic Education program coordinator, a substitute Instructor in Adult Basic Education, (ABE), Intermediate Reading/Writing, Instructor, English as a Second Language (ESOL), GED Math, and has taught and held the office skills & computer class for over 15 years.  Among her significant previous positions, Noemi Ross also served as an Admin. Team Associate to the ALC Director.

Since her recent June 2015, 26-year retirement Noemi Ross has returned to school to finish her Bachelor’s in Business Administration at Berkeley College, which she successfully completed in December 2018, and in Jan 2019 Began her MBA in Business Administration and thus completed it in December 2020. Noemi Ross’s goal is to leave a legacy in her community and for her grandchildren.  She says “the intent is not to reinvent the wheel” but to add to her success.

Noemi Ross believes that given the proper tools and opportunity, Project Rise Adult Learning Center can offer a community, an opportunity to see how far a student can go, whether it is accomplishing post-secondary education or just completing training in a focused area of interest.  With very little funds Noemi Ross piloted Project Rise Adult Learning Center in 2016 and since then she has served as CEO and taught Mixed level ESOL, Basic Education classes.

Noemi Ross’s heart goes out to every student, her desire is to give back to her community by preparing prospective students to see themselves as leaders and contributors to their community and society.  She is looking forward to accomplishing her passion.   Would you join her in reaching this so-needed adult community with the help they need in learning English and Reading and Writing?
