Project Rise began when Noemi Ross recognized the need for basic education and English language skills to help adults better cope with the working world around them. Whether immigrant or unfinished high school, as an adult, people need to be able to complete paper and online forms and communicate in English well enough to apply for a job, work that job, get health care, and deal with the regulations required in the New York City metroplex where millions of people live together.
